HIV Prevention Starts With Care That Does Not Judge You

Taking care of your sexual health should never feel shameful. Asking about HIV prevention should never feel uncomfortable. And walking into a clinic should never make you feel judged.

At W King Healthcare, we believe healthcare begins with trust. We are not here to lecture you, label you, or make assumptions about your life. We are here to listen, answer your questions, and walk with you through every step of your care.

For many patients, talking about HIV prevention can feel personal. It can bring up fear, confusion, past experiences, or concerns about privacy. That is why our approach is simple: we meet you where you are.

You are welcome here. Your questions are welcome here. Your story is safe here.

Prevention is not about judgment. It is about protection.

HIV prevention is one of the most important tools we have to protect individual and community health. But prevention only works when people feel safe enough to ask for it.

At W King Healthcare, we talk about HIV prevention in a way that is honest, respectful, and practical. Whether you are asking about PrEP, need guidance after a possible exposure, want routine testing, or simply want to understand your options, we are here to help.

You do not have to explain everything perfectly before coming in. You do not have to feel embarrassed. You do not have to carry the worry alone.

Our job is to help you understand your health and make a plan that fits your life.

What is PrEP?

PrEP stands for pre-exposure prophylaxis. It is medication for people who do not have HIV and want extra protection before a possible exposure.

PrEP may be a good option for people who:

Have a partner living with HIV

Have multiple partners

Do not always use condoms

Have had a recent STI

Want more control over their HIV prevention

Simply want peace of mind

PrEP is not about who you are. It is about protecting your health.

For some patients, PrEP can feel like a powerful step toward feeling safer, more informed, and more in control of their body.

What is PEP?

PEP stands for post-exposure prophylaxis. It is medication taken after a possible exposure to HIV.

PEP is used in urgent situations, such as a condom break, sex without protection, sexual assault, or another possible exposure. It must be started quickly, ideally as soon as possible and within 72 hours.

If you think you may need PEP, the most important thing is not to panic and not to wait. Reach out for care right away.

At W King Healthcare, we understand that urgent moments can feel scary. We help patients take the next step with clarity and care, not fear.

Testing is an act of self-care

Getting tested for HIV is not something to be ashamed of. It is a normal and responsible part of taking care of your health.

Many people avoid testing because they are afraid of the result, afraid of being judged, or unsure of what would happen next. But knowing your status gives you power. It allows you to make informed decisions, protect your partners, and get care early if needed.

At W King Healthcare, testing is private, respectful, and centered on you. Whatever the result, you will not be left alone.

If your test is negative, we can talk about prevention and future protection.

If your test is positive, we will guide you into care and help you understand your next steps.

If you are unsure or anxious, we will take the time to answer your questions.

You are not just a patient. You are part of our care family.

W King Healthcare is more than a medical office. We see our patients as part of a community, and we treat that community with dignity, compassion, and respect.

We know that healthcare can feel intimidating, especially when it involves topics like HIV, sexual health, identity, relationships, or past trauma. That is why we work to create a space where people feel seen and supported.

We do not judge you for your questions.

We do not judge you for your past.

We do not judge you for your relationships.

We do not judge you for needing help.

We are here to accompany you, educate you, and support you with medical care that is grounded in experience and compassion.

Care should feel human

Good healthcare is not only about prescriptions and lab results. It is also about how you feel when you walk into the room.

Do you feel heard?

Do you feel respected?

Do you feel safe asking the real questions?

Do you feel like your provider sees the whole person?

At W King Healthcare, that human connection matters. We believe patients are more likely to stay healthy when they have a provider they trust. That is why we focus on building long-term relationships, not one-time visits.

HIV prevention is for everyone who needs it

There is no single “type” of person who should ask about HIV prevention. HIV prevention is for anyone who wants to understand their risk, protect their health, and make informed choices.

You may be starting a new relationship.

You may be dating again.

You may be unsure about a partner’s status.

You may have had a recent exposure.

You may simply want to be proactive.

Whatever brings you in, we will meet you with care.

We walk with you through the process

Every patient’s journey is different. Some people come in with a clear question. Others come in nervous, uncertain, or overwhelmed. Some need prevention. Some need testing. Some need treatment. Some need someone to explain everything slowly and clearly.

All of that is okay.

At W King Healthcare, we accompany you through the process step by step. We help you understand your options, complete the right testing, review your results, and build a plan that works for your life.

You do not have to do this alone.
