Meet The Team

Dr. William King is a board-certified physician and HIV specialist with over 25 years of experience. Raised in South LA, he returned to serve his community with care that’s inclusive, expert, and judgment-free, right where it’s needed most.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Dr. King since 2005, starting with his research at UCLA, and I helped open the clinic in 2015. I truly enjoy connecting with our patients and team every day. Outside of work, I love spending time with my family and friends and finding inspiration in art and music. I’m always ready to help with anything you need.

Maria Vargas holds a degree in Occupational Therapy and has been a proud member of the W. King Health Care Group family for the past three years. As Care Coordinator, she works hand in hand with patients living with HIV and those seeking HIV prevention through PrEP. Maria guides each person with care and compassion through every step of their journey — from connecting to treatment and accessing medication to staying on track with follow-ups and ongoing support. She also helps with pharmacy and insurance needs, provides education, and links patients to helpful community resources. A proud mom of two, Maria loves playing sports and spending time in nature. She feels truly grateful to be part of a team that helps patients feel supported, informed, and empowered to stay healthy.

Ricardo is our dedicated Referral Coordinator with over 7 years of experience in healthcare, specializing in patient care coordination and streamlining referral processes. Proven ability to reduce referral processing time through implementing efficient tracking systems and excellent communication with providers and insurance companies. Passionate about improving patient outcomes and experienced in EHR systems, HIPAA regulations, and patient advocacy. Patients appreciate his friendly demeanor and dedication to excellent care.

Alex is the friendly voice you hear when you call our office. As our front office receptionist, he helps schedule appointments, coordinate lab work, and ensure that everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. Alex is dedicated to providing kind, professional assistance and making sure every patient feels cared for and supported from the very first call.

Hilda is a Medical Assistant in our office who primarily supports patients through the pre-operative process, ensuring all necessary preparations for surgery are completed efficiently. She is also a  phlebotomist, responsible for collecting blood and other lab samples. In addition, she manages important administrative tasks, including coordinating forms that require the doctor’s signature and preparing patient letters as needed.
